At the 11th BRICS Environment Ministers' Meeting in Brazil, India proposed the groundbreaking "Baku to Belem Roadmap" to secure $1.3 trillion in climate finance. Led by Additional Secretary Amandeep Garg, India highlighted how BRICS nations—representing 47% of global population and 36% of world GDP—must take collective climate action. The plan emphasizes just transition, sustainable development, and energy security through diverse sources including renewables and hydrogen. India also promoted its Green Grids Initiative and circular economy model while urging BRICS partners to honor climate financing commitments ahead of the critical COP30 in Brazil.
