During PM Modi's visit, India and Sri Lanka formalized ten agreements, including a landmark defense cooperation pact to boost strategic ties through joint exercises and training. Other key agreements encompass digital transformation support from India, collaboration in health and medicine, and cooperation on pharmacopoeial standards. A UAE-involved tripartite MoU aims to develop Trincomalee as an energy hub. Additionally, India is providing a support package for eastern provinces and solar rooftop systems for religious institutions. A grid interconnectivity agreement will also allow Sri Lanka to explore electricity exports.
