Foreign investors have withdrawn ₹10,355 crore from Indian equities in the first week of April, adding to massive outflows of ₹78,027 crore in January and ₹34,574 crore in February. This brings the total FPI outflow for 2025 to a staggering ₹1.27 lakh crore. The sell-off is largely driven by steep US tariffs, global economic uncertainties, and rising interest rates. Experts warn of heightened market volatility as concerns over inflation and stagflation grow. Meanwhile, Indian markets face pressure amidst fears of a global trade war and shifting investment preferences toward safer US assets. Despite this turmoil, analysts suggest emerging opportunities for long-term investors as valuations correct.
